NW cold weather, How to properly care for gerber daisies in planter in yard?

My Gerber Daisy plant is planted in a deep planter but above ground. In the NW, it's getting cold at night, and it still has flowers, and new flowers coming in. Is there anything special I need to do to protect the plant during autumn/winter months?

Thank you for all the answers!

They are annuals in cold climates. You might want to bring it into the house and put it near a window. Check out this link for more information:

Reply:I had some in the ground for three years, but this past winter killed them all. I guess it depends on how bitter it gets. My cannas and Callie plant went too, after being just fine for several years. Friends told me that they are annuals and I was just lucky to keep them that long. I'd put the planters in the basement or somewhere they won't freeze.
