What novel do you sympathize with the most?

I have to say that I sympathize with The Great Gatsby the most. Its such an excellent novel and I was extremely disappointed when Daisy chose Tom over Gatsby. That chapter broke my heart.

What novel do you sympathize with the most?
Sense and Sensibility and Mansfield Park - both by Jane Austen - come to mind. In the former case it's Mr. Willoughby for whom I feel sorry even though he was morally corrupt and in the latter it is Henry Crawford who is also morally corrupt but truly loved Fanny who may have saved him.

I also feel sorry for the monster in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
Reply:Eclipse. Bella decided she wants to marry edward instead of jacob even though she loves both :'(
Reply:Winston Smith in 1984. It's tough being the last sane man in the world.
Reply:I would have to say So B. It, a great book and story about a girl wiht a mother with mental dissablilities who's on a search to find out who she is, it's touching
Reply:I sympathize with Frankenstein's Creature for having to enter a world ill prepared to handle it. I also sympathize with Dracula. Viovode Dracula had the misfortune of being the tenth scholar of the house of Dracule. He was a war hero and very much admired by his people, but fate took over and made him what he was. He had no free will and no say in who he was or what happened to him. I once wrote an academic paper defending Dracula to a jury of his peers. Pax- C
Reply:Rule Of The Bone by Russel Banks, Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut and maybe a little bit of On The Road by Kerouac
