Can married people fixed separate tax?

I am married but don't want to file jointly with spouse anymore. for personal reasons. Plus we might be going separate ways in the near future anyway. I live in California BTW.

You can file married filing seperatly, all you have to do is check the box .

Good Luck
Reply:You can file mjs. You will not receive all credits due. CA is a community property state. You must add your income and his income and divide by 2 for your income.
Reply:You can. You have two choices when you are married. To file Married Filing Separately or Married Filing Jointly.

In your case you would file MFS, but you must make sure that your Spouse files the same way. That is if you file MFS, your spouse must file MFS. If they file MFJ then there will be IRS issues you have to deal with.
Reply:Doesn't matter where you live. Yes, you can file separately.
