How can I remove gum from my cat?

My cat Daisy, somehow got a piece of chewed gum stuck on her to the point it almost looks like her flesh. I keep trying to remove it with a wet paper towel, but it is almost imbedded. I think that's because, before I realized what it was she was scatching with her hind leg and it's not on the hair, but on her skin. What can I do? Should I take her to the vet? She is not in any discomfort. HELP!

How can I remove gum from my cat?
You could try to rub in some butter on the spot where the gum is. This will soften the gum, and you can have a paper towel handy to wipe it with. You could also try a little peanut butter, as it is oily also, and will not hurt her,if she licks it. Good luck!!
Reply:there is this liquid and its call optimis and you cab find it in any pet store
Reply:try ice or peanut butter
Reply:you might need to shave the area... good luck to you and your kitty.
Reply:use peanut butter and ice at the same time, and then, if you cant get it out then, use scissors to carefully cut the hair with the gum in it off.
Reply:ok that happend to me once try to pick some of if it dos not come off try to take him to the groomer to see if he/her can take it off if on furr shave it off if nohing works i dont know how to get it off [my experence] tell me if i helped
Reply:I would call the vet first and see what they say.
Reply:I say you should probably call the vet and see what he or she says. If any is in the hair at all, I'd try to cut it out because your cat may try licking it and get it in her mouth, which wouldn't be a good thing. Other than that, I say you should try ice or something similar.
