The colours of my wedding are apple green, light pink and chocolate brown. My bouquet will have a combination of apple green and light pink gerber daisies with some other floral added but I was thinking a single light pink daisy for each of the bridesmaids against their Chocolate brown dresses. It's an outdoor wedding if that helps you visualize.
Does it look nice or cheap when a bridesmaids holds one single gerber daisy?
I love your flower choice. Please consider, though, that gerber daisies are not the heartiest of flowers - they wilt, and they wilt quickly. And you don't want your 'maids carrying a wilted flower, do you? You may want to consider a small bouquet of pink daisies and some greenery. Like one other answerer said, it looks lovely when the bridesmaids carry a smaller version of the brides bouquet.
Reply:That will look nice. Take care.
Reply:A single gerber may be too small to really stand out ... I would suggest using a cream or pink colored long stem cally lily. It would sit in the bridesmaids arms instead of them holding the single stem ... make it more dramatic by wrapping ribbon around the stem.
Reply:It's not that it's "cheap" but I just don't think it looks the best. I think bridesmaids look best when they have a smaller version of the bride's bouquet.
Reply:I wouldn't say it would look cheap exactly (think it's a rather cute idea) - but a daisy is quiet small and wouldn't be all that visible... Congrats by the way. x
Reply:I wouldn't say cheap, cuz that is just the wrong word there. You are putting so much thought into this that nothing will look cheap, but I would suggest that you may want to try 3 Gerber's instead of one. With your bouquet being fuller, its going to look like your bridesmaids are holding nothing. I sort of had the same problem with my wedding. I had Calla Lilies, and yes they are expensive, but i had my Matron of Honor hold just one white lily against her dark blue dress and it didn't look like she was holding anything. So I decided to go with 3, and you know it looked so much better. And remember never work with an even number with your flowers. Always work with odd. So if you decide to do more then one, do 3 not 2. Good Luck, no matter what you will choose it will be wonderful!
Reply:Since it is an outdoor wedding, I think it sounds wonderful. very pretty, but simple.
Reply:It's about what is going to make you happy. If you want a single flower for each bridesmaid, then that's exactly what you should have. Everyone else's opinion is irrelevant.
Reply:no i dont think so...unless you try to "dress it up" as some people have suggested. If you do a single stem it is more of a stylistic thing, and its different and unique with the gerbera daisy. But if you start adding a bunch of crap it is no longer art, its just cheap.
Congrats %26amp; good luck!
Reply:I'm doing gerbera daisy for my wedding too! For my bridesmaids, they are just holding a hand tied bouquet of 7 orange gerbera daisies. It is very simple, and that's what my wedding is all about. I have pics of several different bridesmaid bouquets, if you would like me to e-mail them to you, just let me know.
Reply:If you are worried about it looking cheap, perhaps a little posie of 3 or 4 each would look nice. But in the end, it's your wedding, if it's what you want, who cares what other people think.
Reply:The Gerbera daisy is one of my favorite flowers! I think it's a lovely idea and will go nicely with your colors. What a great idea! I had a tropical-themed wedding and my bridesmaids carried one stem of tiny white orchids each. I thought it looked very nice against the bright colors of their dresses.
Reply:if you are talking about the ones with the 3" heads it will be perfect, just a simple ribbon laced down the stem with some trailing off
if you are talking about the ones with the 1" heads they may be too hard to see
Reply:nice ...wrap up the daisy with some babies breath and fresh greens and a pink bow. happy nuptuals
Reply:I think that the isngle flower si going to get lost in a sea of chocolate brown. Gerberas are very inexpensive..why not a bunch of them in the single color? It would look very graphic and really pop against the brown.
Reply:Cool... agree with the previous responses. The idea that the bridesmaids has one is great. Why should clutter it with tons of flowers that'd look like a Xmas tree?
Happy for you.
