This is a great website for analysis of books:

Later in the evening Tom and Daisy ask Nick about his engagement. He tells them he is not engaged, and that it is all a gossipy misunderstanding.

Daisy Buchanan, who happens to be Nick's second cousin and the wife of one of his Yale classmates, a wealthy former footballer named Tom Buchanan. Nick learns that the Buchanan marriage is not particularly happy...

Quote from the book:

“You make me feel uncivilized, Daisy,” I confessed on my second glass of corky but rather impressive claret. “Can’t you talk about crops or something?”

I meant nothing in particular by this remark, but it was taken up in an unexpected way.

BOTTOM LINE: Nick is re-acquainting himeself with three people who each love themselves more than anyone else in the whole world. As he tells Daisy, he is an outsider to their clique and he is uncomfortable.

IN the book The Great Gatsby why does Nick feel uneasy after his conversation with daisy in Chapter 1?
Because Daisy wanted him to do her homework for her and he did not want to.
Reply:A comprehensive site that covers loads of works by loads of authors, such as theme, character analysis, so on and so forth.

Once there navigate around and use the search facility to find what you need. Highly recommended. Good Luck.
