i think they like to eat it because its there and they are too stupid to realize it makes them sick

That's just because a lot of dogs will eat ANYTHING that could possibly get into their mouths! Dogs eat flowers, wood chips, garbage, and even (dare I say it) poop. As others have said that plants also serve as good "stomach cleansers".There's probably no need to worry unless what they eat is known to be poisonous, if it causes any other medical problems, or if they start choking. Have a good time with your dog! : )
Reply:Dogs eat grass when their sick. If something makes them sick they eat grass to throw up what ever made them sick.



I heard that it also helps them when their constipated too.

Reply:good question! im waiting for the answers, because we went to visit my mom back in California who has a big back yard to run and frolic (haha) in and my puppies had a grand old time, well ont he six hour trip home my puppy (car sick apparently) threw up a whole bunch, and it was almost all grass! I didn't even know he was eating it. I guess he does kinda look like a cow... Of course, puppies eat everything so who knows. I wouldn't think it tastes good?
Reply:my dog eats grass too and then throws up. Alot of dogs do that. According to the vetenerian, its like a stomach cleanser for dogs.
