In the novel "THe Great Gatsby" why did Daisy run down Myrtle and did not stop?

She's drunk from their little party at the Plaza Hotel, she doesn't know how to drive, and she has absolutely no regard for anyone but herself. She callously leaves Gatsby to clean up her mess - knowing full well he will. Everybody always takes the blame for Daisy. Daisy is a totally irresponsible, selfish *****. Pax - C

In the novel "THe Great Gatsby" why did Daisy run down Myrtle and did not stop?
I think the alternative was to run into an oncoming car.



As to why she didn't stop, there wasn't much she could do, and she didn't want to be involved. It was someone else's problem.
