it makes him nervous and tense cuz they havent seen eachother in 2 years. At first, gatsby has to be accompanied by Nick in order for him to feel comfortable talking to daisy.
In the Great Gatsy in chapter 5, how does the meeting with Daisy affect Gatsby?
I interpret it as: This marks the end of the "green light" on the other side of the egg. Basically this is when his downfall begins, as he meets Daisy, he falls into a fruitless fight. He will try to win Daisy from Tom and thus causes his downfall...
A bunch of symbolism, the clock is one. "Her voice has the sound of money in it" (something similar). She cried on his shirts. "you can't change the past" "why of course you can!" those are the main things you need to note in this chapter. two of these things foreshadows Gatsby's end.
