Do I bring power to box and just "daisy chain little wires to the other receptacles?
I want to install 3 duplex receptacles in one Three gang box . How do I wire?
all receptacles are made to continue the line to another receptacle in that line. bring power to one receptacle. black wire[hot] goes to the brass screw. white wire[nuetral] goes to the silver screw.the just go from one to the next.

Reply:Dragon got it, the reason you do it that way is so that in the future, if you need to work on one of the three rec. you can easily remove it from the box without having any effect on the rest of the circuit
Reply:in parralell in one out other side to next and on to end
Reply:That's fine, or use a wire nut to make three pigtails. Both ways are OK, as long as you know which wires go where. I like to leave a long piece of wire and strip a section without cutting it, and loop that around each terminal to daisy chain.
Reply:Your 3 gang box needs to be large enough for the wires and the receptacles at 2.5 cu. in. per conductor, if 12 GA is used. That will require 9x2.5=22.5. Each receptacle is counted as 2 conductors, all the grounds count as 1. Measure the box to be sure it is large enough. Then loop the wires from one to the next to the next. All of the grounds tie together and are then grounded to the metal box.
Reply:Have the main power going to the center one and feed out in both directions to the other two.
Reply:The last time I did it, I did the wiring outside the box, looping the wires without cutting them. Just used strippers to strip a piece 3/4" long, wrapped it around the screw, %26amp; did this till it terminated. Once I got it all wired, it was easy to put it in the box. **Use elect. tape around each recp't.**
Reply:no
you pigtail 3 wires from each of the lead incoming wire to the receptacles, via a wire nut
that means a total of 4 wire per each connection ( 4 blacks or hots, 4 white or nuetrals and 4 ground wires ), and if thy are number 14 gage you can do this with a tan wire nut, if number 12 gage wire it has o be a red wire nut.
