Has anyone else heard this? Or have you used Daisy's yourself?

I had daisies and roses in my bouquet, the daisies held up better then the roses. When you go to your reception, put your bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets in vases and use as a centerpiece for bridal table, that makes a pretty centerpiece and keeps the flowers fresh.
Reply:if you use white daisy mums (in my shop we call them pompoms) they last very very well. a white shashta daisy, which is probably the type youre thinking of, wont last as well, but white daisy mums look exactly the same and hold up very well.
Reply:Daisys can wilt easily and if your wedding is in the summer, this can happen even faster. However, have you thought of the idea of mixing silk daisys along with the real flowers? Many silks are very convincing especially when mixed in. You may also want to ask your florist if there is a possibility of perserving real ones. I believe there is a spray laquer used for this purpose. Worth asking about. Another idea if all the rest does not work, what about a ribbon hanging from your bouquet with little daisys printed on it? Good luck!!!
Reply:Daisies are my favorite too. I did gerbera daisies at my wedding and they looked and worked wonderfully. Talk to a florist for details.
Reply:They are a bit delicate, but not too bad. My sister had a big bouquet of them, and in her hair as well. Just don't have the bouquet made up too early, and at the reception you can put them in water (I love it when people have vases waiting for the girls' bouquets on the head table!).
Reply:I am definitely using Gerber daisies in my wedding. The bridesmaids are going to carry pink gerber daisy bouquets, my maid of honor will carry a bouquet of pink gerber daisies and pink roses, and I will carry a bouquet of pink roses, and all will be tied with blue ribbons and secured with costume jewlery broaches (so they can be a little keepsake). The daisies should be fine, but if you want to keep them, then go for silk. I'm just letting the flowers be real, and when they go, they go. :)

Reply:I did hydrangeas with white daisies in my wedding. They were beatiful! I think daisies are a great modern take on wedding bouquets.
Reply:Go with the Daisys, they are your favorite and it is your day. Have one of your attendants get a hold of them the day of your wedding and put them in the refrigerator until time for the wedding to start, and they should last throughout your wedding.
Reply:I think daisies would look great in a wedding bouquet. I don't really believe they die any quicker than roses, which are used all of the time. Have what you want in your bouquet; it will look beautiful and you will be happy that you have your favorite flowers on your very special day.

Reply:Check with your florist. Some cut flowers last longer than others. A bridal bouquet doesn't have to last long so use whatever type of flower you want. You can have them put something else in the smaller bouquet that you toss.
Reply:silk flowers are the best, they weigh less than real (the water adds weight) and you get to keep them afterwards. also no chance of wilting.
Reply:Daisy's are pretty resilient. They come out in the peak of summer, so they have to be. I have a big bunch of them in one of my flower beds, and they last for quiet a while. However, keep in mind that any flower is going to start to wilt in a bouquet after some time (for obvious reasons). I love daisies and think they would make a beautiful bouquet. Are you going to use any other flowers with them? If not, try wrapping a blue ribbon around the stems. Blue looks gorgeous with daisies...and you will have your something blue. Good luck!
Reply:Daisy's are also my favorite and I don't think they die too quick. Make sure the bouquets are not done until the night before or even the morning of the wedding if you have someone reliable to pick them up and have them to everyone on time. You can also get silk daisy's and that Way you can hold on to you wedding bouquet forever, just like you will hold on to your husband forever. Good Luck and Congratulations! If you are using silk flowers go and and purchase them, if you are going through a florist or designer for real flowers or even silk ones go ahead and reserve everything you need as far in advance as possible so you will be sure to get exactly what you are hoping for.
