How to shrink this shirt without ruining it?

Please read carefully:

My aunt gave me a shirt that is a little too big for me.It's a pretty black daisy fuentes shirt made out of cotton and rayon. it instrusts to put on a warm gentle wash with light colors. How do I shrink it without ruining it? is there any safe ways to do itI want it at least one size less? before anyone asks, I don't have a receipt.

If it were all cotton, you could wash with like items and dry it in the dryer. Since it has rayon, I don't suggest the dryer. Rayon is a nice fabric but not as stable as pure cotton. If you sew or know someone who does, it may be possible to take the seams up some and it still look nice.
Reply:Try washing as per instructions and see if it shrinks first and if it holds it's color.



Then I guess you could always get out the needle and thread and alter it
